The seminar aims to improve doctoral students' competencies in management, technology, and innovation to publish their work in leading academic journals.

The course is the result of a long-standing cooperation between the University of St. Gallen, EPFL, and ETH Zurich aimed at fostering research excellence in the field of management. This academic year the seminar will take place at ETHZ on June 15-16, 2026 (blocked course).

The seminar will address the following questions:

  • How to set up research for academic journals?
  • How to structure an academic paper for publication in selected journals?
  • How to address editorial boards?
  • How to cope with editorial recommendations?
  • How to set up a publication strategy?

Students will analyze and discuss leading journals in the area of strategy, management, technology, and innovation. In addition to the journal analysis, we will discuss selected papers in management and innovation research. Registration is to be done through IS-Academia.
