Language and communication skills (75% of the final grade)

2 pieces of work from the list below:

  • 1 Academic style task
  • 1 Functions task
  • 1 Article/report/thesis task
  • 2 Language skills tasks

Learning to learn (10% of the final grade)

  • 1 task developing learning skills: reflection on learning strategies or on the learning process

Intercultural competence (15% of the final grade)

  • 1 task developing intercultural competence

Conditions to obtain ECTS credits:

  • 80% presence, active participation
  • Tasks completed to a satisfactory level

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, the student must be able to:

  • Express clear, well-structured, extended academic texts in an appropriate style (articles, reports, thesis abstracts, introductions, results, discussions, conclusions, etc.)
  • Use adequate argumentative techniques (describe a process, give a point of view, exemplify ideas, define terms, etc.)
  • Apply the conventions, language and principles of academic writing in one's own field
  • Use references and citation without plagiarism
  • Use a high level of grammatical accuracy
  • Recognize ntercultural and/or interdisciplinary differences in academic writing
  • Produce constructive feedback, editing one's own and colleagues' texts and improving them stylistically and grammatically
