EE-490(a) / 4 credits

Teacher: Lissek Hervé

Language: English

Withdrawal: It is not allowed to withdraw from this subject after the registration deadline.

Summary

Apply the knowledge acquired in Audio lectures (room acoustics, acoustic material characterization, loudspeaker measurements, etc.), and provide additional useful illustrations (full wave simulations on COMSOL Multiphysics to better understand some physical phenomena).

Content

  1. MATLAB: Programming of tools for acoustics and audio
  2. MATLAB: Analysis and synthesis of a piano note
  3. COMSOL Multiphysics: sound sources radiation
  4. COMSOL Multiphysics: Acoustic plane waves and simulation of impedance tube measurements
  5. EXP: sound absorption measurements in an impedance tube
  6. EXP: sound absporption measurements in the reverberant room
  7. COMSOL Multiphysics: Simulation of room modes
  8. EXP: characterization of room modes and application of active sound absorbers in the reverberant chamber
  9. COMSOL Multiphysics: simulation of an electrodynamic loudspeaker
  10. EXP Characterization of an electrodynamic loudspeaker in the anechoic room
  11. EXP: Sound power measurements in the reverberant chamber
