Innovation in and from space
Summary
The course provides MA students with a strategic understanding of the space sector and how to translate research into industrial applications. It covers space economy, project mngt, leadership, and interdisciplinary innovation, with skills applicable to large transformative projects across sectors.
Content
The course will introduce the context of space activities both at the European and worldwide levels, provide an overview of the growing space economy, explore the paths from research models to industrial products, cover the basics of the project management in space, explain review process and risk management in a space project, discuss space transportation systems and services, briefly describe space missions to LEO, Moon and Mars, introduce key space-based applications and ground operations supporting space activities, discuss relevance of science in space missions, define success factors and characteristics of complex programmes, outline how to bridge space technologies and other economic sectors.

By the end of the course, the student must be able to:
- Competency in space project management and implementation

- General understanding of how to manage complex, innovative projects
