Summary

Training in hemato-oncology - Analysis and genetic manipulation of hematopoietic progenitor cells. Morphological recognition of main hematopoietic lineages.

Content

The students will learn how to

1)collect and genetically modify murine hematopoetic progenitor cells

2)set up hematopoietic colony- forming unit assay

3)stain and analyze of blood smears

Note

Note that while the course is open to all 1st year EPFL doctoral students, priority will be given to 1st & 2nd-year EDMS students, given that they are mandated to take three EDMS practical modules. Note also that doctoral students from the Oricchio and Naveiras laboratories cannot take this course.

Access is limited to 4 students. Takes place every year in January.
